Music & Lyrics: Sing Me A Dream

I wanted to make an orchestral synthpop song that told a full narrative — not just a feeling, but a night unfolding from the first glance to the final choice.

In Another Life is about one of those nights many people have experienced. You are at a party, full of emotion, waiting for the courage to ask one person to dance. To finally break the ice. To establish a connection that might change everything.

But something holds you back.

Maybe it is social pressure. Maybe expectations. Maybe lack of courage. Maybe just chance in a crowded room, where the person you need to reach always seems one step too far away.

Then the last song plays.

Suddenly, everything comes to a head. The night can no longer stay suspended in possibility. The stakes rise to an impossible level. Will it end as a dream — or as a nightmare of gloom? Will you be chosen, or left standing alone?

For Elias and Amir, whose story is told in the music video, that question becomes especially painful. Their night is shaped not only by longing, but by fear, misunderstanding, and the pressure to keep pretending.

But the feeling at the heart of the song is not limited to them.

So many people have lived through something similar — no matter who they wanted to ask for a dance. That moment when the music is ending, the chance is fading, and you realise that silence may hurt more than rejection.

In Another Life is a song about longing, courage, the moments that never were — or almost never happened — and the fragile instant when a hidden feeling either becomes a wound you carry, or finally becomes real.

In Another Life

Music fills the night Empty glasses, melting ice People laugh and dance Pretending twice But you… Stood like you didn’t belong In the air — your song And those honest eyes Already made me yours Last song plays One last chance In another life We would have danced No pretending, no disguise You’d take my hand The hurt would fade Tonight’s forever Just break the ice Estoy aquí Going home alone — It’s imminent — they’ll soon close Dreams collapse When no one dares Do you… care? Everyone wants to be Someone’s end tonight And for once, I’m no different To feel your warmth Your perfume close To find your lips — that sacred spot I’ve searched for in my dreams Last song plays Do I dare? In another life We would have danced No pretending, no disguise You’d take my hand The hurt would fade Tonight’s forever Just break the ice In another life I’d be myself Not the mask of someone else Eyes entwined, in our trance Tonight’s forever Just take the chance Take my hand — it takes courage, I know The world can watch — or let it rot Time comes to a stop Between the truth and what we’ve got Let it be real If we break, At least we feel Before they close, before we part Let this dance be who we are In this life We dance so close No pretending we don’t care No cool, no pose — Just two honest boys In this life We’re real With nothing left to conceal For one bright beat beneath the stars We’re only who we are ¿Por qué tardaste tanto? In this life, at last Together — here we are
