Music & Lyrics: Sing Me A Dream

This song is special to me — it’s the only one, so far, that came to me entirely in a dream.
I woke one morning filled with emotion, a melody still lingering in my ears. So taken by it, I got out of bed immediately to write down fragments of lyrics and try to capture the tune before it faded into daylight or sleep. Mad World was born.
That morning is years past. Even then, the world seemed crazy. I couldn’t have known how much more poignant the lyrics would become over time. Some lines have taken on a frightening relevance, as authoritarianism has swept through the Western world, environmental crises have worsened, and digital mass manipulation has poisoned the public conversation.
In a world that seems to worship power, money, and fame - people forget: some of the worst leaders in history were very smart… but they had no wisdom. No heart. Intelligence without heart is deadly.
Although the song carries clear social commentary, it’s above all a deeply personal reflection. The lyrics are layered with cultural references and double meanings — this isn’t an exhaustive interpretation, but a few may be worth highlighting.
The line “Spinning a Web of lies” carries a double meaning. On one level, it’s the familiar metaphor of weaving untruths — but it also points to the Internet’s role in spreading disinformation. The capital “W” nods to the “www” of the World Wide Web.
The opening line — “I’m not superstitious, learned to prefer my fairytales served cold” — refers to enjoying story-telling such as fantasy indirectly through fiction, films, role-playing games, or gaming culture. Believing in devils or the supernatural would be the “hot” version of superstition — but engaging with them as fiction is like having them served cold.
Another lyrical detail is the phrasing: “anger, hate, suffering.” These words are no coincidence. Yoda, in his teachings on the path to the dark side, says:
“Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
While there wasn’t space in the melody for the full quote, the final steps remain — tracing that descent into darkness.
An ordinary person may not have the power to fix the world — but we do have the choice to hold on to our values and hopes.
In a world gone mad, the defiant heart still matters.
Have you ever felt like nothing could hold you back? Like the night was yours, and you were ready to break every obstacle — and every rule?
With this track, you are. You’re going supersonic. Then, Faster Than Light.
F.T.L. is pure rocket-fueled dance power — a psychedelic call to outrun gravity, break every limit, and own the night. Fierce, fast, and free. Another Saturday night out, in other words..! 😁
It’s a rallying cry to go wherever the hell you want — and go fast.
F.T.L. was inspired by some real rocket science. While working at a real-world space agency, one core concept of launch systems is that they must fly faster than they fall back to Earth in order to reach escape velocity and leave our planet. Or, as the lyrics say: “We’re speeding faster than we fall…”
So — fuel up. Light up. Lift off. Nothing can stop you now.

Mad World
I’m not superstitious Learned to prefer my fairytales served cold Not quite religious But truth and love I hold in awe I try to play bored at times But in my heart there’s still that spark Despite of this Mad world, vengeance all around All I see, men marching uniformly Mad world, tearing itself apart To let go and find peace Would make a lot more sense to me (Ta da da da da da ta da da) I’m not empty-handed But do I really need all I hold? (hmmm) Try not to be cold-hearted But there are people at my door fleeing wars I try to play smart at times But in the end intelligence ain’t what we need most Mad world, vengeance all around All I see, men marching uniformly Mad world, spinning a Web of lies A little humanity Would make a lot more sense to me Mad world, centre cannot hold All I see, anger, hate, suffering Mad world, tearing itself apart And that spark, finally Makes a lot more sense than this (Ta da da da da da ta da da) Mad world, centre cannot hold All I see, anger, hate, suffering Mad world, spinning a Web of lies A little humanity Would make a lot more sense to me Mad world Centre cannot hold All I see, anger, hate, suffering Mad world, tearing itself apart And that spark, finally Makes a lot more sense than this
