The song weaves together the Italian “arrivederci” (goodbye) with the French “liberté” (freedom) and “vérité” (truth) to tell its story. It’s about watching our freedoms slip away—often under the banner of good intentions. You know that old saying about the road to hell? Yeah, that one.

Freedom has many enemies today—from power-hungry politicians to companies tracking our every move, from outright dictators to the subtle erosion of privacy. How easy it is to lose our freedoms if we’re not paying attention… and how puny and mad those schemes must seem to the eternal stars looking down on us.
But we should all have the right to express ourselves—and when needed, to disagree.

Now, I’m thrilled to finally share the finished version with you.

The result is something to feel inspired by—a song that I hope does justice to its themes.

The 80s was a mesmerising decade of explosive and divergent creativity that we can’t forget. This version leans into the dreamy nostalgia of that decade—with analogue synths, tender melodies, and a bittersweet glow. A memory you can’t quite place. All encompassed on an old tape cassette that somehow survived the decades, keeping the story alive like a flickering candle in the wind.
